If you have a plumbing emergency you really don’t need to overthink it give us a call so we can help you out. We see that a lot of people have doubts about calling us, especially over something like a blocked toilet. They will try to figure out a way to fix the issue on their own. Once things get too out of hand then, they will make the call. All that we can say is that it really doesn’t matter whether you think that the problem is extremely severe. A lot of times it’s better to get professional help quickly even if it’s a small issue. To prevent it from developing into something major.
The Stop The Bleeding Phase
Usually, emergency services are going to include some form of leak or backflow situation. When this happens the first thing that we are going to want to do is stop the leaks. Usually, this is going to mean shutting off the water supply in your home. It’s better to do this quickly and have many of your water fixtures offline for a bit until we find the source of the problem. Then to just let the leak continue to flow. Just as a heads up, there is a good chance that your bathrooms and faucets won’t be working when we are working!
Repair or Replacement
One of the common mistakes that we see even some colleagues make is that they will go for the quick repair. Especially, on a leak, you can easily just patch things up and the leak is gone. It’s important to know though what caused the leak in the first place. If we have a pipe that is broken it’s usually because another part of the pipe system is blocked. Once we find that we may be able to just repair the broken pipe and stop the leak. If we don’t find the source though, we are never really going to be able to offer a long term solution.
Not Spiking Up Prices
We sincerely want you to feel comfortable giving us a call at any point during the day or the night. That’s why all of our services are done without a major uptick in the price. We don’t want people to want to wait until the next morning to give us a call. Worrying about the extra cost that could come their way if they ask for emergency services outside of regular business hours.
Shutting Off Water Supply
As you can probably guess one of the best things that you can do to minimize any type of flooding damage is to shut off the water supply. If this is something that you know how to do and you think that you can do safely you can go ahead and do that before we arrive. If the problem is with having the ability or not to shut off your water supply then let us know. You don’t forcefully have to shut off the water supply. It can help though!
